Meet the Team Behind Guru-host
I’m Stylianos Asmargianakis, founder of Guru-host. I started the company back in 2002 in Liverpool, driven by a passion for Linux, infrastructure, and helping people run their online projects without the headaches.
Since then, we’ve stayed small by design. These days, I work closely with my wife — the problem-solver behind the code. While I handle DevOps, hosting, and system-level challenges, she takes care of the application logic, untangling everything from legacy PHP issues to complex Laravel or WordPress bugs. Between the two of us, we cover the full stack — from server to software.
What We Actually Do
We’re often brought in when things break — or when no one else wants the job.
Maybe your site’s been hacked and blacklisted. Maybe performance is tanking and nobody can tell you why. Maybe you’ve inherited a custom application with no documentation, and everyone you’ve asked just shrugs.
That’s where we come in.
We’re not here to sell packages or push you to upgrade — we’re here to understand your setup, fix it, secure it, and help you move forward with confidence. Whether you’re running a WordPress blog, a Laravel booking system, or something built from scratch ten years ago, we’ve likely seen it — and fixed it.
A Modern Take on Hosting
In recent years, we’ve transitioned fully to Docker-based infrastructure. Every new site we manage runs in its own container stack, with isolated services, resource limits, automated backups, and optional load balancing.
While we still maintain some legacy projects on traditional hosting, we’re actively planning to migrate all of them to our modern stack in the coming months.
We continue to believe in sane defaults and human-friendly setups — but under the hood, it’s now a robust, containerized environment managed entirely by us.
Real People, Real Support
We don’t have a support queue. You just email or call us. We answer.
We work closely with clients who value responsiveness and expertise — people who don’t want to fight with ticket systems or explain their issue to five different people. Our size lets us be agile, direct, and fast when it matters most.
We love building long-term relationships and often work with clients for 5, 10, even 15 years.
